Intimacy With Jesus || The Integrity Of His Word

Hi there! How are you doing?

Welcome to another time in God’s word on the blog!

The truth is that there can be no knowledge of God without the knowledge of His word.

God cannot be separated from the words of His mouth.

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
John 1:14 KJV

The One we are actually aiming at being intimate with is THE WORD. This word is the Jesus we want to know. So it maked perfect sense for everyone who wants to know Jesus to actually start from His word.

But even as we dig into God’s word in a bid to know Him, we also need to have s specific frame of mind as regards what God’s word really is.

Now, some of you may be like me or have been like me at a point in your life where you have all these prophecies and word from God hanging over you. He has said things to you that even seemed outrageous but the issue is that He doesn’t think it’s outrageous at all and scarcely a week passes by without Him reaffirming His word to you.

But you wonder because you have nada, zip and zilch come to pass. You are even tempted to ignore Him when He promises sometimes because you wonder…

I have been there and sometimes still slip into that place from time to time. But thank God for His grace. This week God has been dealing with me on the integrity of His word.

I found this as I dug into Psalm 91 on Monday:

“…His faithful promises are your armor and protection.”
Psalms 91:4 NLT

And since then I have been mulling on it.

First of all the word FAITHFUL struck me. What does faithfulness mean? (See our study on God’s attribute of faithfulness HERE)

It means that God never fails. Never fails. Never fails. Once He says, He does.

“God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?”
Numbers 23:19 NIV

These words have really been an anchor for me in recent times because when I see some seeming breakthrough in someone else’s life and am tempted to think “when Lord?”…His word settles as an anchor over my soul that just says “His FAITHFUL promises…”.

Faithful as in “no word shall fall from my mouth to the ground void and let this keep you secure in my truth, love, grace and understanding of who I am”.

I believe that if there is one thing we should seek as children of God, it should be a desire to know God more so we are not tossed by physical circumstances and situations. It is God who keeps us secure. God not people or external situations. And when we reach forwards for an understanding of who God is, it brings peace to our hearts in whatever situation we find ourselves.

Now I noticed that that Psalm 91 verse says His faithful promises shall be our armor and protection and I asked “against what?”

“above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.”
Ephesians 6:16 NKJV

The enemy will throw fiery darts against you. Darts of doubt, darts of condemnation, darts of fear, darts of distrust of God..

How do you stand secure against all that?

Take the shield of faith..

Faith in what?

Faith in GOD.

You cannot have faith in circumstances because they change with the tide of life. The only One who never changes nor cast a shifting shadow is God. And in times of fiery darts being thrown at you, you would need Him to stand secure.

Brothers and sisters, let’s not just aim fo experience God’s act but let’s also dig into His ways. His personality. Who He is and the knowledge of God’s faithfulness and stability is one that can keep us standing when all else falls apart.

Prayer:

Father we ask that there be a personal revelation of who you are in my heart. That I will know you in a deeply personal way. That your faithfulness and integrity will anchor my soul in your word and promises.

Thank you Jesus.

I love you Lord.

Further Truth:

“Therefore, put on the complete armor of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious].”
EPHESIANS 6:13 AMP

“…for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.”

Psalms 138:2 KJV
