Life Lately: What Gratitude Looks Like For Me Right Now

I’ve had a really amazing weekend. A weekend so good it had me crying on the shoulders of a sister… not tears of sadness but tears of joy. The weekend had me laughing out crazily at just how good God is… The weekend had me locking up myself in the rest room just to be able to get some quiet to kneel down and thank God for His awesome deeds in my life.   The Gracdmisfit and Vicky gave me a gratitude challenge and what better time to get on it but now? Firstly thank you for getting me on this challenge… Ore-ofe blogs at www.thegracdmisfit.com And Vicky blogs at http://kambishares.blogspot.com   Now to things I’m grateful for…   (1) For […]

Who Do You Look Unto For Help?

Let me tell you the story of how I got funds for my book… At first, I had faith to carry only 100 copies which they told me was 38000 Naira… that wasn’t a problem on my faith walk because I simply calculated that I had the money in my bank account… even though it would totally deplete my NYSC savings.   Afterwards the idea came to get the book up to 500 copies which was 85000 naira… for this I had to seriously put my faith to work which is what I wanted to avoid by planning for 100 copies of the book only. Afterwards again, the idea again came to increase it to 1000 copies as I felt/knew […]

Book Giveaway: 10 Steps To Walking In Purpose By Frances Okoro (CLOSED)

It is no news that our singles hangout held on Saturday… What should be news though is the fact that it was amazing… so amazing! Like I even didn’t understand the effect of being in the company of godly single ladies prior to the event but by the time I left, I knew just how therapeutic a meeting of ladies who just love God can be. We laughed, we connected, we took loads of pictures 🙂 we ate, we talked about purpose, shared our lives and more importantly we shared our love Jesus and desire to take steps to be filled by Him and in Him. Distinguished and I are actually confused as to who should win the award for […]

Why You Don’t Need A husband

Dear Single Ladies (And Gentlemen), How are you all doing this lovely day? I know it will come as a surprise to you to see the title of my letter up there, Moreso because I have written to you on why I need a husband before. No, I am not contradicting myself. Yes, both letters are expressions of my heart and simply a medium for me to share some truths with you. If you read the letter on why I need a husband, then you already have some of the lies the world has told you about the reason for marital relationships being replaced by the truth – God’s truth. So basically, I can assume that you already know the […]

Lessons From The Woman At The Well

I studied the “Woman at the well” for the first time last year. I say “studied” because I had read it lots of times before but I only began to see the lessons I saw in it last year. Recently, God has again been opening up a different aspect of Jesus’ meeting with the Samaritan woman in John 4. It’s basically something He wants me to share at the singles hangout this Saturday. I’m not free to share my recent discoveries from John 4 yet but I will be sharing lessons I got from my study last year. Yes, I have a lot of Bible studies that don’t make it to the blog because the time doesn’t seem right for […]

For Christian Writers/Bloggers: Lay Aside The Weight Of Distractions

This wasn’t supposed to be the plan today. I was supposed to share a post on my book’s virtual blog tour/giveaway. But I’ve learned to not be too stringent – so much so that God cannot use me for what He wants to do in a particular season, here and now.   On Saturday, it suddenly dawned deeply in my heart that most of the Christian blogs I read have actually been on “leave” for a while. Some of them may have valid reasons… Exams, marriage, kids, new Jobs, etc. etc. But still, I want to focus on something that was laid in my heart deeply as I went from blog to blog that seemed DEAD.   Before I go […]

Ify Halim: Can People Really Change?

I had a dream at the beginning of the year… A dream that had me wishing that Imperfectly Perfect Lives would grow to indeed include lives and not just my life. That I would feature a lot of guest articles on the guest Post section of the blog… and that I did till publishing Book brouhaha got me busy… too busy to even publish Ify’s article she had sent me for a while now. I admire Ify’s patience(right from before my journey to Jos) and perseverance and forgiving spirit because she certainly had to have a good heart to not think I was shelving off her article. Thank you Ify. Hopefully her amazing nature shines through to you via her words […]

A Reminder To You: He Has Got It All Planned!

I love God. I can’t deny it. The things He does… the length He goes to make sure that His message gets to me in a particular season is just a testament to how much more He loves me in return.   I had plans and dreams in my heart when I came to Lagos a week ago. I kind of had it planned out a bit, but I needed faith to appropriate what I saw in my heart and that faith wasn’t forthcoming the way I wanted it to. Or rather, I was just a bit overwhelmed with the faith journey. Like I just passed one Faith journey with the book, why this again. Why can’t everything just be […]

Have You Got A Story To Share From Your Past Like My Past Abortions?

I was sitting in Church yesterday, receiving Word that was exactly what my soul needed at that point in time when the minister, Sister Oyinkan branched into “sharing your story/testimony”. Anyone who has read this blog for a while or has at least stumbled on my story here or my video on Youtube sharing my story on my past abortions already know that sharing my story is something that God has dealt with me on.   I like to joke with myself and when I’m speaking to my friend who I am with right now that I just came from the bush, the David kind of bush… which is true but it’s also true that it was a good bush. […]

Frances Okoro: Reflections Of An Ex-corper On Her Meaningful Service Year (Interview)

Hi people! I hope you are loving the day that Friday is? Workers, students… can I get a yay? 🙂   Okay. Like I mentioned in my Chronicles of my last day as a youth corper post, (click on the link and read if you haven’t yet :-))  my friend David Adeyemi who was a part of Awakening Youths on the blog sent in some questions for me to answer on my NYSC year. So I thought “what better way to wrap up this segment than to end it all with me sharing on whether I lived what I believed/projected to others?” So today you have me on the hot seat, and simultaneously also wrapping up the Awakening Youths segment of the […]
