A Valuable Investment

So as part of my #fitfam things, I walk falomo bridge to and from Ikoyi everyday I have to go to court. As I was staring at the water while walking by last week though, I got thinking about Peter and his episode with Jesus-the walk on water story. Matthew 14:24-33 (please whip out your Bibles and read) Ok, here’s Peter walking on the water and all of a sudden, he started sinking. What happened Frances Okoro Hi there! I’m Frances Okoro. Lawyer, Author, Speaker and Social Entrepreneur who uses her gift of writing on here to draw lives to Jesus. I hope something on the blog blesses you and draws you even closer to Him. http://www.imperfectlyperfectlives.com

Pathway To A Great Marital Life

So my roomate is a very funny girl. She regales us in the room with these crazy stories of her toasters.. For example, there was one guy that said he wanted to marry her and the guy was flashing her like no man’s business. One day, she just picked up her phone to call him, with no laugh on her face and speaking with serious passion, she said – “why are you always flashing me na, is this the way they do relationships? Why? Why?” I just started laughing uncontrollably when I heard that. Kai! Another guy Frances Okoro Hi there! I’m Frances Okoro. Lawyer, Author, Speaker and Social Entrepreneur who uses her gift of writing on here to draw […]

A Better Way To Lose ALL The Weight

It’s Thursday, May 15th 2014. Cross examination is on right now in Court, a very dramatic one if I may add.The SAN seems to be really good at what he does but I am not that drawn in. My thoughts are elsewhere… I gave Lizzie an assignment to always ping me at 7pm to leave my room and go and read (ehen,i can give you assignment na,lol) but I doubt that she understood the import of what I meant. She thought I was joking, in fact, I can imagine Lizzie saying in her mind- “oh Frances the dramatic girl”.. I also probably thought that I was joking but as I sit here, I realize that I was dead serious. Here’s how a typical […]

The Awakening

Before I started blogging, I used to write on the back of almost all my notes. I didn’t realize that what I was writing could even be shared then, I would just scribble when inspiration hits. I asked my sister to type and send one of such scribbles last week and she sent the wrong one but today I feel it was exactly the right one to be sent. Here’s it. “August 2013 This night, sitting here in this class,I almost wept for the deteriorating stage of things in this world.Women,do you know who you are? Do you know what you are meant to be and do? Do u know that you are meant to be valued? Do you know that […]

#We Worship

I wrote this in February and intended to tweet it but didn’t get around to doing so and now I know why. Anytime I worship God, like truly get into it, my mouth keeps repeating- “I know who I worship” You know, some people may not know who they worship but “we know who we worship”. So today, we will be doing morning inspirational drive with a little twist. We are not going to complain that Monday’s here again, we will not start the week that way. We are going to start by worshipping the God who we know and we won’t ask for anything… we will worship our God for who He is and the only other thing we […]

Feed Your Spirit…

If you follow me on twitter or facebook, you would know by now that one of my favourite pastimes is going to the rooftop of my hostel, with earphones plugged in, stare at the skies, wonder about God and just worship. One of the songs I listen to is Hillsongs-Lord of Lords. I have the video but I don’t really watch it, I just plug it in,stare at the skies and just worship. Today in court though, I watched it… and I hear someone asking me how I had the time… Well you see, being an extern in Federal High Court is a crazy thing. You have to go early, stand at the door and wait for the registrar to open […]

#BringBackOurGirls: My account of the Abuja protests (30-04-2014) + More…

The post I am about to share was originally published by Chioma(fairy god sister) on her blog at http://fairygodsister.wordpress.com/2014/05/01/bringbackourgirls-my-account-of-the-abuja-protests-30-04-2014/ But before I share… From my writings, you should be able to tell by now that I always look out for what I can learn from the simplest things and I will be sharing one of those before you read FGS’s post here. You will see as you read the post below that aside from participating in the march for the chibok girls, Chioma ran into a woman who was having a fight with her husband… And this struck me; She did not blame Nigeria for the fight between the couple as I am sure some would do because the root […]
