You Are Something

Originally on Bellanaija – http://www.bellanaija.com/2014/04/02/frances-okoro-you-are-something/ Omawumi’s song “Be The Best I Can Be” rings in my head anytime I think of my mother. Like Omawumi, I was also a recipient of the “wash the plates, sweep the house” lessons. Of course, my mother is a Nigerian and like all Naija mothers do to their daughters, I was taught from the moment I could appear to understand the words from my mother’s lips how to work in a home, how to clean the bathroom and toilet, how to be neat, how […]

Lessons From My Favourite Love Story 1

As at the time I wrote this in February, I personally felt like I had being listening to too much marriage and relationship talks and I was thirsty for career/take on the world/live in purpose talks… But I opened my Bible that morning and the lessons the Holy Spirit opened my eyes to see just kept pouring in and it hasn’t stopped. Will You Praise Him…Regardless?

Happy Easter dears… I am awed by the fact that because of what Christ did for us, we now have direct access to our heavenly father. How awesome is that? Because of Jesus, I can actually bypass the priest and temple things as in the days of old and use wherever I am to talk to God and He will hear me. Whoop whoop!   When I was in the university, my bed in school then, used to be one of such covenant grounds. Some days, I’d lie down there, […]

Yes! He Knows!

So on Sunday was thanksgiving service organised for Law School students and the theme was praising God in advance for what He will do. I had no cash on me per say but gave the seemingly big one I had with me to God and thanked Him for a number of things. I woke up today and the leading in my heart was to pray for favour. I overdosed on MK’s Arugbo ojo and just worshipped God. The “thank You Lord” from my lips were just pouring out. I also thanked God […]

I am at the roof top of my hostel, earphones plugged in, Hillsong’s Lord of Lords on repeat and doing what i am getting to discover is my most favourite thing in the world – writing. I cant explain what worshipping with songs on a still quiet night like this while staring at the skies/writing does to me… It just seems to me like I am at […]
